Salt Lake County hosted the third annual Salt Lake Countywide Watershed Symposium on August 26 & 27, 2009, at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City.
"Engage, Connect, Protect" was the theme of this year’s Symposium, and we definitely accomplished that goal! Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2009 Symposium a resounding success.

Approximately 200 participants attended each day of the Symposium, representing water quality professionals, academics, environmental advocates, industry and the interested public. We received tremendous positive feedback. Overall, there was a clear consensus that people would like to see the Symposium grow and continue as an annual event for Salt Lake County.
What was Discussed
Feature presentations and field trips covered a broad scope of topics, fostering conversations about watershed and water quality issues in Salt Lake County.

Participants included Peter Corroon (Salt Lake County), Claudia Anderson (Bluffdale), Ralph Becker (Salt Lake City), Kelvyn H. Cullimore (Cottonwood Heights), Dave Newton (West Jordan), JoAnn Seghini (Midvale), and Dan Snarr (Murray City). The panel was moderated by former BLM Director Patrick A. Shea.
