Water Quality Stewardship Plan

stitch

In 2006, Salt Lake County began a collaborative effort to develop our Water Quality Stewardship Plan (WaQSP). After three years of data collection and compilation, over 125 stakeholder meetings, 200 individual comments, and many unofficial discussions, the 2009 Salt Lake Countywide Water Quality Stewardship Plan is complete. Thanks to everyone who took the time to attend meetings, discuss difficult subjects, review the plan, and spread the word about water quality stewardship!

Please find sections of the WaQSP in pdf form below. Printed and CD copies of the WaQSP are available at 2001 South State Street, Suite N3100, Salt Lake City, UT 84190. Additionally, printed copies of the WaQSP Executive Summary are available at the above address.

With the 2009 WaQSP in hand, we are looking to partner with municipalities and other stakeholder groups on implementation. Please let us know if you know of a project that would improve water quality and/or watershed function.

Additionally, we anticipate that the WaQSP will be updated every six years. Therefore, our next update is scheduled for 2015. Please let us know if there are any additional items that you would like to see addressed in the 2015 update.
